Organisasi Siswa Intra Sekolah

What is Organisasi Siswa Intra Sekolah (OSIS)?

Organisasi Siswa Intra Sekolah (OSIS) or generally Student Council, is an organization that exists in most schools in Indonesia. It's the biggest and the largest student organization in a school. And it's one of the government's way to afford Indonesian students the skills in organizing, collaborating, and cooperating each other among students on preparing and doing their educative activities. The organization has the General Assembly (Badan Pengurus Harian - BPH) which consists of President, Vice President I, Vice President II, General Secretary I, General Secretary II, General Treasurer I, and General Treasurer II. 

Overall cabinet of OSIS consists of :

  • General Assembly
  • General Advisor (teacher)
  • Divisions

The divisions or "seksi bidang / sekbid" have their own oriented activities and programs. For instance, Sekbid Agama (Religion Division) organizes religious activities, Sekbid Seni dan Budaya (Arts and Culture Division) orients on arts showcasing and culture performing. And so like Sekbid Penerbitan Web (Web Publishing Division), maintaining the computer laboratory and the website.

OSIS hold General Election every year to elect appropriate applicants to be placed on General Assembly and the Divisions.
